Last September, Variety the Children’s Charity of New York launched a brand new fundraising campaign – Varieaty: Local Eats to Benefit Local Youth. During this week-long initiative local food trucks and food stands partnered up with Variety NY in support of providing therapeutic arts programs for the tri-state area’s most underserved youth. For the week of September 19-September 26, vendors sold “Varieaty Specials” such as cakes, ice cream waffles, and Greek food, with a percentage of sales donated back to the organization. Variety New York also partnered up with notable food bloggers and instagrammers who posted pictures of the Varieaty Specials, with ‘likes’ from the photos totaling to over 25,000! The campaign was a great success for Variety the Children’s Charity of New York, generating both money and awareness for the organization.
